I haven't been blogging recently.
That's mostly because we've been busy. Birthday parties, appointments, kids, and gardening. The only thing I'm really missing is warmer weather. It's been kind of dreary around here lately. Living here is usually really nice in the spring, but this year, it's been very wet! Bummer because I can't go outside and garden more.
My garden has been a source of joy. I find it calming, fun and educational. Everytime I need an answer about a flower, veggie or herb from my yard, I go online and read up to see if I can't fix it. I've learned that in my yard, I have four different flowers and at least one herb that I can bring into the house and care for over the winter. Some are going to be easier than others, some may not even make it at all, but it will be a fun way to spend the winter. I joke with Jeff that he's going to need to set me up a "grow op" in the basement this winter. I have one flower that I just bury the tubers into vermiculite and only water twice over the winter. My kind of flower! The others, I just care for, water and watch.
I haven't been very consistent with the gym recently. I need to get back onto that. I haven't gained any weight at all. Actually, I'm down about 20lb now. I'm pretty proud of that. I am good with my medication and drinking lots of water. Thankfully, the diet portion is easy because I like a lot of veggies and fruit. I use them for a lot of snacks. My dietician says I'm doing wonderfully. My clothes fit (or don't because they are a wee big) and I'm looking forward to being able to do a bit of shopping. And I DO sure love to shop when I get the chance and feel up to it.
The kids are busy, as ever. Now with summer here, we've been letting them play outside a bit longer in the evenings, especially on the weekends. School is over for the year in two short weeks, and I know that I'm looking forward to the break. I'm also really excited to see them move forward into the new school year. I'm going to go to some of the educational stores and see if I can't find some things to help us organize and keep on with the homework and chores. Give them a real solid schedule and keep to it. It will be a huge help to me. And with Olivia being in school full time next fall, I have plenty of time to look for playgroups for Grady and perhaps find him a part time daycare program to go to. I was hoping for two full days a week. That gives me a break, gives him some structure and I can get things done. It will be especially nice if I am starting school again.
I'm not any better on the housework. I am hoping to remedy that this coming rotation. Organize and sort my desk area, go through some of the toys, give some away, toss some and donate others. I have so many, and some are in fantastic shape. It would be really nice to see someone else derive joy and fun from them as well. I think these are probably realistic goals for the next two weeks. Given the amount of toys we have, I'm not sure we will get through all of them, but at least the baby toys. I have a lot of really fun toys to give away that are too young for Grady now. And really, that's a nice thing. It will be nice to pare it down a bit. I also need to re-sort my pantries and get through the plastic and sippy cups. I'm sure I have plenty of friends who may need either a few cups intact or even parts and pieces. I'll just put everything into a box and then see what I can make with the pieces!
I'm looking forward to many park trips with the moms I've made friends with this school year, the moms who I made friends with last year and moms in some cases, I haven't even met yet!! I look forward to all the bbq's, the food and the fun. I'm hoping for at least one camping trip! I'm really looking forward to seeing my yard bloom, eat some of my veggies and herbs and watching my kids grow and bloom this summer too!!
For now, I'm going to go get groceries. My house is all but empty. Been eating at home so much more and it's been great! I do admit, this past week, food has been a lot of eating out. I think I regretted that these past few days. My tummy isn't used to all that stuff anymore in a row! Pizza once in a while is okay, but Saturday we had Olivia's birthday party, then went to Red Lobster, Sunday we went to Red Robin and we had pizza later in the week. uuuuuuugh...LOL It all tasted SO good, but it was a hard week on my stomach!
So...I plan to try to blog more in the summer, but I might not for a period of time. I do have another blog floating around in my brain right now, but I need to sort of sit on it a few more days to think about how to put it all into words. Maybe only until tonight. I don't know. I do know that there have been some really interesting changes in my thought process and hopefully, I will be moving forward with something I had to put by the wayside for the time being.
I think I'm ready now...
i love your blog..........and hope you have a wonderful summer!
